Hugh is the Senior Capture Lead for Carbon Capture Technology at the Global CCS Institute based in Melbourne, Australia. Hugh is a chemical engineer, and before joining the Institute, he worked in the industrial gases sector in Australia and New Zealand. His experience includes the operation and process improvement of Air Separation Units, Natural Gas Liquefiers, Pressure Swing Absorbers, Hydrogen Steam Methane Reformers, and Carbon Dioxide Capture facilities. The Global CCS Institute an international think tank with a mission to accelerate carbon capture and storage worldwide as a key part of our efforts to achieve climate targets.

Hugh holds a Bachelor’s in Chemical and Materials Engineering from the University of Auckland. Hugh has been a volunteer in the chemical engineering profession in Australia, formerly the Early Career Member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers National Board of Australia and as part of the Joint Victorian Chemical Engineering Committee.
