Nilay Shah is a Professor of Process Systems Engineering at Imperial College London and Chief Scientific Officer of Zero Petroleum Ltd (a synthetic fuel company). He works on the design and optimisation of low-carbon process and energy technologies and systems. He is a Chemical Engineer by background and Fellow at the IChemE and Royal Academy of Engineering and is particularly interested in the transfer of technology from academia to industry and the use of evidence to support policy.
