Overview
Based on real teaching examples from engineering courses, this talk demonstrates how generative AI can be used as a teaching partner within project-based and digital learning settings. It shows how AI can support learning processes while simultaneously fostering students' critical, reflective, and disciplinary competencies. The focus lies on transferable approaches that can be adapted to different teaching contexts.
Speaker
Verena Wolf-Zoellner, Senior Lecturer, Technical University of Leoben
Verena Wolf-Zoellner is a Senior Lecturer at the Chair of Process Engineering and leads the research group Fluid Separations. Her research focuses on absorption processes, mass transfer in packed columns, and applications such as carbon capture and maritime exhaust gas cleaning. Alongside her research, she is actively involved in advancing engineering education, with a focus on competence-oriented teaching and digital learning formats. Her recent work explores the integration of generative AI in higher education and how it can support learning while fostering critical and responsible use of AI technologies.
