Overview

The workshop provides a focused and interactive environment to explore each of the core competencies required for the Competence and Commitment (C&C) report, with guidance from experienced assessors and IChemE staff.

Throughout the day, participants will engage in breakout sessions dedicated to each competency area, allowing time for discussion, reflection, and peer feedback.

The aim is to leave attendees feeling confident, informed, and equipped to complete their C&C report and prepare for the professional review interview.

In terms of workshop structure, please see the outline below with most of the sections being interactive with lots of time for discussion, and then importantly, typing up the examples / evidence that the attendee might like to include (ready for review by mentors etc.)

  • The competence and commitment report (C&C report)
  • Review of sections A through to E with additional subsections per competency.
  • Discussion - demonstrating your achievement across the competency areas.
  • Discussion - picking examples that show your range and depth of your responsibilities
  • Discussion - creating a detailed and concise report
  • Discussion - picking good examples to support your C&C report
  • How to organise your CV.
  • The Professional Review Interview

There will be no formal prework required, however attendees would benefit from being familiar with the C&C report and competence requirements.

This will be free for IChemE Members to attend, and refreshments and lunch will be provided.
