Sarwar Khalid Ali
Sarwar is a chemical engineer with over 12 years of experience across gas processing, pipelines, LPG recovery, and refinery operations, currently serving as lead planning engineer for Miran Energy. In this role, he leads integrated execution and commissioning strategies for major energy infrastructure, ensuring safe start-up, operability, and technically sound project delivery. He applies core chemical engineering principles - thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and transient process analysis - to evaluate contractor methodologies, optimise execution logic, and maintain process safety compliance throughout project lifecycles.
Previously, he held senior planning and engineering roles with Crescent Petroleum and Dana Gas, where he developed master schedules for gas processing expansions, pipelines, and brownfield tie-ins, and provided technical oversight of commissioning and recovery plans. He began his career as a process engineer in refinery operations, supporting commissioning, troubleshooting, and operator training.
Sarwar holds an MSc in chemical process engineering and a BSc in chemical engineering, and maintains strong professional engagement through certifications including PMP, PMI-RMP, CMRP, and multiple process safety and quality credentials. He is committed to ethical engineering practice, professional development, and mentoring engineers, consistently promoting safe, sustainable, and technically robust engineering decisions aligned with IChemE standards.
