IChemE announces finalists for 2026 Global Awards

9th October 2026

After a rigorous judging process, IChemE is delighted to announce the finalists for its 2026 Global Awards.

Entries came from 116 companies across 19 countries, and Head Judge Jamie Cleaver says that, once again, the submissions demonstrated an exceptional level of excellence;

"The quality of entry submissions to the IChemE Global Awards never ceases to impress me, and I’m inspired by the innovative use of the established tools in the Chemical Engineering toolbox.  This year has seen a strong showing of diverse entries across the range of reprofiled categories.  Many thanks to all the entrants, my fellow judges and the IChemE support team who have contributed to the Global Awards 2026."

The winners will be revealed on 10 December at the IChemE Global Awards Dinner, being held at the National Railway Museum in York, UK. Widely recognised as the world's most prestigious chemical engineering awards, the event is one of the UK's largest gatherings of people working in, and contributing to, chemical, biochemical and process engineering worldwide.

Meet the finalists before the dinner

Earlier that day, IChemE will host an afternoon showcase where finalists and sponsors can network and talk more extensively about their work. All members and dinner attendees are warmly invited to come along, meet the people behind the shortlisted entries and hear more about the work being celebrated first-hand.

Thank you to our sponsors

The IChemE Global Awards are made possible by our sponsors. An extended thank you to Johnson Matthey; Kent; Pm Group; Rolls-Royce; and Sellafield Ltd.

What is chemical engineering?

Chemical, biochemical and process engineering is the application of science, mathematics and economics in the process of turning raw materials into everyday, and more specialist, products. Professional chemical engineers design, construct and manage process operations all over the world. Energy, pharmaceuticals, food and drink, synthetic fibres and clean drinking water are just some of the industry sectors and products where chemical engineering plays a central role.

IChemE

The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) advances chemical engineering's contribution for the benefit of society. We facilitate the development of chemical engineering professionals and provide connections to a powerful network of around 32,000 members in more than 100 countries.

We support our members in applying their expertise and experience to make an influential contribution to solving major global challenges, and are the only organisation permitted to award Chartered Chemical Engineer status and Professional Process Safety Engineer registration.
